Anne Alloway, co-author of "Tales from Bush Graves" drops by the Special Collections Reading Room.

Anne Alloway with her book "Tales from Bush Graves", co-authored with Roberta Morrison.
Recently the library staff had the pleasure of meeting Anne Alloway in the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library Special Collections Reading Room.  Anne is a co-author (with Roberta Morrison) of the book titled “Tales from Bush Graves” which records the sites and stories of people buried in remote graves and burial sites in the Hughenden district, an area covering 42,000 square kilometres.  This valuable resource was eight years in the making and includes a potted history of the stations and their owners.

Currently Anne and Roberta are working on a similar project for the Winton district.  Peter Russell and Peter Patterson-Kane have already collected a lot of information about graves in the Winton district and the surrounding area and have asked Anne and Roberta to create a book.
JCU Library looks forward to the opportunity to add this future publication to the North Queensland Collection.
