Open Access eBooks from UTS ePress

Some of our fellow Australian universities are publishing academic Open access eBooks as well as journals. Open Access makes these eBooks available to all.

Many of the  OA eBooks currently published by the University of Technology of Sydney (UTS) are in the humanities, although other disciplines are covered as well. The Anatomy Quizbook: for students studying or intending to study medicine Volume 1 provides downloadable PDFs and an interactive eBook designed for any device. This book guides the student through terminology and the various anatomical sections of the body, asking questions and providing answers on each.

James Cook University academics have also published with UTS. Intercultural Learning is another interactive title and delves into the work universities are undertaking in preparing our students for international study. It is self-paced and has links to videos and other resources.

Both of these resources could be useful to students outside of the humanities.

UTS ePress publishes much more - there are open access journals and conference papers. Do you want to know how wireless monitoring systems can be used to design better public transport provision by tracking pedestrian traffic? This paper from the Advances in Real-time Information Networks in 2013 describes the research from UTS.

Why not check out other open access eBooks through our Databases pages? Select 'Open Access' from Database type, and add 'eBooks' as a keyword.
