To help you stay in touch with news in your community and beyond, JCU offers its staff and students unlimited digital access to The Townsville Bulletin, Cairns Post, The Courier Mail, The Australian, and many other News Corp newspapers. Free access to these newspapers is via a campus subscription offer. You must be on the JCU network (using Eduroam or a JCU computer) to activate your subscription. Once registered, you can access content anywhere, anytime.

APA 7th: What's new from APA 6th?

APA 7 th Edition has a number of changes from the 6th Edition. Here's a quick summary to give you a running start: Authors APA 7 th has changed rules regarding number of authors. If you have three or more authors, ALL in-text citations are First Author et al. – e.g. (Brown et al., 2020). There is no longer a difference between first and subsequent citations You list up to 20 names in a citation in the reference list. If there are more than 20, you list the first 19, use ellipses (…), then the last one. Dates Date of publication: APA 7th now requires a full date if available. Happy Birthday Shrek! Can you believe that it has been 16 years since Shrek was released? Doesn't that make you feel old bring back happy memories? Yes, on May 18, 2001 the world was introduced to the story of a grumpy ogre, a talking donkey, and a cursed princess. It also won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. It just so happens that the JCU Library has copies of Shrek and Shrek 2, along with many other DVDs located in the 791.433 section. So if you need a break from studying, check out our DVD collection, it's cheaper than Netflix.

COVID-19 Fact or Fiction

Major publishers are supporting global scientific efforts to understand the Coronovirus or COVID-19 by ensuring research findings are shared openly and as rapidly as possible. JCU library currently has access to over 1500 peer-reviewed articles on the COVID-19 virus many of which have been published as free access articles to ensure the widest dissemination possible. Wiley , SpringerNature , JAMA and BMJ are just a few of the publishers monitoring the outbreak and making the latest information readily available.
