Libguides are here!

LibGuides are a major new Library web resource to support study and teaching.

Check out the LibGuide for your subject and tell us what you think and how we can make it work better for you!

The LibGuides software is designed especially for libraries and is used by an extensive worldwide community of major Universities. Each LibGuide is created on an Information Literacy framework to enhance JCU’s genric skills requirements.

FEATURES:

Tabbed content:Easy to navigate tabs allow us to present a lot of information in a small space. Students get to the important material quickly and drop-down menus expand the available “real estate”.

Web 2.0: LibGuides help improve & expand communication channels with students. We can embed multimedia objects inside guides - videos, RSS feeds, podcasts, widgets, web chat or instant messaging etc. Students can share their favourite LibGuides on any social bookmarking site, including Facebook and they can also email links to guides to friends. Users can also respond to polls, feedback boxes, add comments and vote of the usefulness of information.

Widgets: We can create LibGuides widgets that can be embedded into any webpage, blog, or LearnJCU site. The widget will update automatically whenever there is new content.
