Measuring research impact

The debate has restarted for research valuation to move beyond metrics-based methods (such as counting peer-reviewed publications and citations), to a broader process that looks at the research’s impact on the world outside academia. Perhaps this time next year we will know if there are going to be changes made to the current Australian research valuation system.
