Libguides in focus: What are Libguides?

The JCU Libguides are your custom-built portals for research, writing, and referencing.  We have a Libguide for every discipline the University teaches, and then some!

The discipline guides are really useful starting places for your research, and they have links to academic and reliable databases, journals, books, websites, and more.  You'll also find information on how to start and organise your research, how to construct a literature review, how to use the databases, the  and who to contact if you get stuck.

It's worth taking a bit of time to explore your discipline Libguide to discover all the goodies we've gathered together for you.

Where is my Libguide?

The Libguides are accessible from the Library website.

Click on the Subject Libguides link.

You will see a screen that looks like this:

Once there, choose your broad subject area and click on the + button to see the available disciplines:

Click on your discipline, and you'll see your Getting Started page:

There's a lot of stuff in your Libguides, so take your time when you're exploring them  We'll feature a Libguide each week, starting with the Info Skills Road Trip next week.
