National Native Title Conference to be held in Townsville

The 2017 National Native Title conference will be held in Townsville from the 5th to the 7th of June 2017. This year is the 25th anniversary of the Mabo decision. The Townsville JCU library is named after Torres Strait Islander Eddie Koiki Mabo who was a Townsville resident during the court case and had worked at JCU.

In 2017 the annual National Native Title Conference will be convened by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) and the North Queensland Land Council (NQLC) on the traditional lands of the Gurumblibara Wulgurukaba people, Townsville Queensland. The conference will be held at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre from Monday 5 - Wednesday 7 June 2017.
