Welcome to the new One Search!

The new One Search is live!

Our new One Search interface has gone live! One Search is a way of searching all the library's resources - books and ebooks, journals and journal articles, multimedia and more. You can find the One Search search box on the home page of the library website. You can jump right in and start searching or consult our One Search Guide for tips on basic, advanced, browse and journal searching, and saving results.

The new version of One Search has the following features:

  • Multiple methods for searching - Simple Search, Advance Search, Journal Search and Browse Search. Save your searches to revisit later!
  • Virtually browse books and journals to either "side" of your results.
  • There is one record for each title. Click on a title in the search results to see all available copies and locations in both print and digital formats
  • Filter your results by campus location and/or collection
  • Save items permanently in a favourites folder, and use labels to group your saved results
  • See your loans, requests and library fines, renew items and pay fines in your Library Account
  • Single Sign On log in for all users, whether on or off campus. It's a good idea to log in before you start searching but, if you forget, your search and any filters you applied will still be saved after you log in (visitors can still search without signing in)
Some other changes to borrowing, etc:

Items will be automatically renewed if another patron hasn't requested it, however if you have finished with an item, please return it so others can access it. And keep an eye on your emails, because if another patron asks for it, you will need to bring it in by the due date.

All receipts will be sent by email. You will also receive a monthly email containing your borrowing activity and the items you have on loan.

All general collection items will have a 3 week loan period (please note - this is the same for staff and students). Items will be placed on (and removed from) short 3 day loans automatically, depending entirely on demand (number of requests).

If you used to have a staff account and a student account, your identities have now been merged.

There will likely be a few minor issues to resolve over the next few weeks as the new system is implemented. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
