JCU Library is excited to announce a Textbook Affordability Project grant round aimed at helping academic stakeholders transition from student-paid textbooks to open educational resources in their subjects. This initiative offers a fantastic opportunity to innovate and make learning more accessible and less costly for JCU students. These grants primarily target first-year core subjects.
Open Educational Resource (OER) textbook adoption grant
Five grants of $1,000 are available to support academic stakeholders to replace student-paid prescribed textbook/s by:
- Adopting an OER to replace a commercial textbook, and/or
- Developing a curated Reading list to replace a commercial textbook.
OER textbook adaptation or creation grant
Two grants of $2,000 each for academic stakeholders interested in either adapting an existing OER or creating a new one.
