New SPAM attacks

ITR wish to advise the JCU Community of another attempted SPAM incident.Investigation thus far have identified non-jcu email accounts delivering large quantities of SPAM emails with a reply or forwarding address set to legitimate JCU email addresses. The scope of this attack at this time appears to be limited with only minor impact, resulting in a user's inbox being filled with emails with the subject line similar to "postmaster email bounce".

ITR Email Administrators are continuing their investigations into this and other recent Phishing attacks and will continue to monitor the email services and servers with our vendor Mirapoint and information security with AusCERT.
