The Learning advisers in Townsville and Cairns are offering Public Speaking Classes for staff and students.
In Townsville you can attend a 6 week Public Speaking class.
Date: Tuesday 17 August (and next 5 Tuesdays)
Time: 4pm - 6pm

Participants will learn by speaking. There will be impromptu speaking every week and each participant will be expected to deliver a 5-7min presentation at some stage during the course. Materials and information will be made available and the cost of the course is $30.
JCU now has a speaking club to help students and staff develop their speaking skills. The "JCU speakeasies" meet every second Thursday 4-6pm in Townsville. The next meeting will be on 19 August. Contact Peter Hanley for more information.

This is an eight-week effective speaking course facilitated by the Marlin Coast Toastmasters and Teaching and Learning Development. The course is open to undergraduates, postgraduates, JCU staff and the community. $50 for students ($80 for staff) payable on the first night.
