JCU does not send emails requesting you to confirm, update or disclose your confidential log in details. If you receive what you consider to be a hoax email, DO NOT RESPOND and please delete it immediately.
Here is an email I received that is a typical targeted phishing attempt

This message is from the James Cook University Help Desk. We are currently carrying out scheduled maintenance, upgrade of our webmail service and we are changing our mailhost server as a result your original password will be reset. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.
To update your account,Please Click the Link Below and provide the information requested.
[Link to non-JCU site removed]
If you click the link and it appears to be broken, please copy and paste the URL into a new browser window. Failure to do this will immediately render your Email Address deactivated from the University Email database.
