New LibGuide: Measuring research impact

The Library has launched a new LibGuide called Measuring Research Impact. This LibGuide describes bibliometric tools and resources that JCU researchers can use to track their research and the research of others. This includes:

• Citation databases
• Journal evaluation sites
• The h-index
• Tools to identify and collate publications
• Databases that benchmark the performance of research groups.

The LibGuide also explains:

• Why it is important to be able to measure research impact e.g. for grant and promotion applications
• Issues to be aware of – each tool has advantages and disadvantages.
