Downloading and Reading eBooks

JCU Library has many eBooks in its collection. Ebooks are convenient for students who can't get to the library to borrow because of travel distance or time commitments.

There are two ways to read an eBook:
  1. Read it online in your web browser (all you need is a stable Internet connection)
  2. Download the item as a short term loan or PDF (this allows you to read when offline)
If you choose to download, some items will download as a PDF files (like most journal articles). You can download to computers, tablets and smartphones. Many eBooks have a restricted borrowing period (due to publisher decision, copyright laws and electronic software restrictions) - and you may need to download extra software. You can read more about JCU Library's eBooks and how to access and reference them on our eBook LibGuide.

If you have any questions feel free to contact the Library InfoHelp desk.
