World Press Freedom Day is celebrated annually on 3 May 2017. This day focuses on the fundamental principles of press freedom, and defends the independence of the media from attacks. This day is also a time to pay tribute to those journalists who have lost their lives during the course of their work. The UNESCO theme for World Preess Freedom 2017 is Critical Minds for Critical Times: Media's Role in Advancing Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies. This focuses on strengthening free and quality journalism.The JCU Library has Libguides that relate to media.
