World Access to Higher Education Day

The second World Access to Higher Education Day is taking place on 26th November 2019.

World Access to Higher Education Day is a platform to raise global awareness around inequalities in access and success in higher education, and acts as a catalyst for international, regional and local action.

‘Access to higher education’ is about more than just enrolling in a university course. A person from a marginalised group may be able to enter higher education but could have fewer options in doing so, have difficulties completing their course, find themselves unable to achieve a comparable level of attainment to other students and then struggle to get a good job.

Read the stories of students from under-represented groups around the world, including from Australia, as they share their experiences of access and success, or read some research that highlights the challenges we face in widening access to higher education.
