Queensland has a public holiday on Monday the 4th of October.

This is to celebrate the birth of the Queen (on the 21st of April, 1926 - look, it's best not to ask too many questions. We've got a public holiday, it's in the part of the year when we're all happy to have a long weekend, we'll just be grateful).

Our opening hours for Monday 4th of October, 2021:

  • The Eddie Koiki Mabo Library will be open from 1.00pm-5.00pm. The 24hr Information Commons will be accessible after hours.
  • The Cairns Library building will be available from 7.30am-12.00am, but no librarian services will be available. You will need to use the Chat service to speak to a librarian.
  • The Chat service will be open from 1.00pm-5.00pm, but you can leave a message with us outside of these hours and we will get back to you.
Our opening hours are as usual for Saturday and Sunday.

You will need to wear a mask at all times while visiting the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library this weekend, as Townsville is currently on Level 2 Restrictions.
