Access All Areas at the Cairns Library!

Students and staff now have access to ALL floors of the Cairns campus library during opening hours. Previously, the top floor (home to our physical book collection) has been closed in the evenings and weekends (when library staff are not present).

The Townsville and Cairns libraries have different zones on each floor. Please choose a zone that is appropriate for your study needs and remember that the library is a shared space. As well as the top floor, rooms 104 and 124 are also designated silent study zones during the evening and on weekends.

Our clients are required to comply with our Client Services Charter, the Library Use Policy, and the Acceptable Use Policy for university facilities. 

You can check the current library opening hours for both campuses on our website. Currently the Cairns library is open from 7:30 am to 12:00 midnight, with staffed services available between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Don't forget to bring your JCU ID card – this will give you access outside of library staffed hours and allow you to use our printing and copying services. Happy studying!
