JCU Library is delighted to announce the winners of the 2024 Textbook Affordability Project grant round, designed to help academic stakeholders transition to free-to-students textbook alternatives. This initiative aims to make learning more accessible and affordable for JCU students. After careful consideration, we are excited to reveal the grant winners.
JCU Library expects to offer another grant round in the first half of 2025.
TAP grant winners

Adoption of existing open educational resources (OERs) and/or Library subscribed resources:
- To replace a first-year psychology prescribed textbook
- Savings: approx. $125 each for 183 enrolled students
- Potential student savings: $22,875.
Dr Danica Vojisavljevic and Dr Beena Suvarna
Healthcare Sciences and Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences
Adoption of existing open educational resources (OERs) and/or Library subscribed resources:
- To replace a first-year biomed prescribed textbook
- Savings: approx. $95 for 466 enrolled students
- Potential student savings: $44,270.
