Mabo Library opening hours are changing

 

Monday 9 September 2024 will see a change for opening hours for the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library, JCU Townsville. From this date, our library building will be open from 7:30 am -12.00am (Monday - Friday).  Swipe access for staff and students is mandatory after 6 pm (no card, no access). 

Weekend opening hours will be unchanged, open 10 am until 5pm both days.

To make this change work for everyone, we would ask that students adhere to:

Completion of the JCU Respect online module, available via LearnJCU, and Fire Safety and Evacuation Training is recommended to use the space after hours.

Whilst in the JCU Library spaces, we would encourage that you remain vigilant of your surroundings, download the JCUSafe App and use this tool to request an escort service, report suspicious activities or chat with security. Furthermore, if you are using one of our individual or group study spaces on the top floor, we ask that you refrain from using noise cancelling headphones to ensure that you will be able to hear any fire alarms as they sound.

This change of opening hours has been made as a direct result of the feedback that we received from our recent Library Experience Survey - you asked, we answered!
